Before Java 1.6 was released to the public I used the Runtime class (found in java.lang) to call the java compiler (javac.exe) directly to compile a Java file from another Java application, the line of code that i used looks like this
But luckily for me Java 1.6 introduced a handy utility that makes it possible to compile a Java application within a Java application without making direct calls to an external application. To demonstrate that I wrote a HelloWorld Java file and a CompilerConsoleDemo class that compiles the HelloWorld java file.

Remember this post of mine ?
Well, I was bored and updated it a bit so that it now supports different colors, clear drawing screen etc The flickering is because i'm drawing everyline realtime in the background, this will be fixed in a later release.
The sourcecode will be uploaded on the forums shortly.

A Java component I made that you can use to add banners, logo's, animated gifs, links etc to any Java Swing application. I hope you like my Java component! It's free and the old version can be download here on the blog! (I'll upload the latest version later when I have the time)
Oh yeah, the quality of the video is below average (you can't see what i type) but I blame windows movie maker (and youtube for lowering the quality but atleast they are hosting my video)!
//edit
Higher quality video can be downloaded here: http://www.megaupload.com/nl/?d=FSAO2SF5
The code that I used in my demo video

Dispite releasing a new patch a few days ago (which brings red alert 3 beta to version 1.4) the problem of connecting to other people still remains when hosting or joining a game. I admit that it doesn't happen every time when I try to create or join a game but enough to annoy me (and other players at the red alert 3 beta server).. the horror happens when I try to start 2 vs 2 matches. Almost every time there is atleast one person that can't connect to eachother, 1 vs 1 matches however work fine and I have no connection issues so far.
So what gives? I've been chatting in the ingame chatroom (casual1,2,3) for a bit and by the looks of it i'm not the only one that has trouble hosting or joining 2 vs 2 games, it seems that quite a few players can't play this game because they can't connect to atleast one player.
That said, I know that the game is still in beta but what about solving these connection problems and let us test the ingame gameplay?
When the game does start however I have to say the gameplay is ok but there are some balancing issues (king oni) and harvester AI problems (why the hell does my harvester go to the enemy base to harvest ore when there is an ore mine right in my own base???).. looking forward to more patches.. i'll keep u updated ![]()

This video might be a bit old but it's still a very fun (not real) translation of some indian video translated by Buffalaxed. It's a must watch if you haven't seen it before!
