Phase II was all about (rare) releases in the music scene blogged by D-don and other Phase II members.

Phase II started out as a small but close group on our forums and soon many members would follow and grew out to a pretty known group of people that posted anything music related. At it peaks there were even people signing up on the forums only to join Phase II! I even remember that there was someone that even made a track about Phase II. Those were the great time..

But unfortuneatly all good things end, and so our main Phase II bloggers/forum poster hasn’t blogged nor posted on the forums for quite some time and I believe the Phase II community is becoming pretty inactive (you might even call it “dead”) as it stands now although all the posts are still on the forums (I’m guessing around 6000/8000+ of the posts were made by Phase II members)

D-don’s last blog dated on 2007/10/25 and it was this post: Engineeringserver.com/blog/2007/10/25/lyfe_jennings-cops_up-promo_cds-2007-xxl/

For more Phase II blogposts click here.

I talked to D-don recently and he said that he was busy with all sorts of things but he also told me that he will blog when he has the time to do so, so i’m looking forward to it to see some of his posts here again.

Until then, you may consider Phase II official closed.

Looking for a fun 2D physics application for the creative mind? Look no further because Phun is a pretty cool application that can be used to create all sorts of objects that can interact with eachother such as a miniature car that moves and bumps on another object or a slingshot based on physics.

Phun is a Master of Science Theises by Computing Science student Emil Ernerfeldt for supervisor Kenneth Bodin at VRLab, Umeå University. The solver is based on work by Claude Lacoursière

Phun is meant to be a playground where people can be creative. It can also be used as an educational tool to learn about physics concepts such as restitution and friction.

Phun was coded in C++ using OpenGL, GLEW, SDL (for window management), SDL_image (for reading images) and boost, including boost_filesystem. Everything was coded by me, including the physics engine and user interface.

Not convinced? Check this awesome video with Phun in action:

(awesome music, anyone know there to get it? :p )

Nope it’s not this guy from dragon ball Z/GT:

But rather than that it’s a platform for mobile devices created by the mighty Google

The Android platform is a software stack for mobile devices including an operating system, middleware and key applications. Developers can create applications for the platform using the Android SDK. Applications are written using the Java programming language and run on Dalvik, a custom virtual machine designed for embedded use which runs on top of a Linux kernel.

I haven’t played a lot with the Android SDK but it looks nice, demo’s and sourcecodes can be found here:
