Û   Euricka was New Orleans’ first female R&B/Hip-Hop   Û
Û   solo artist to land strong on the industry map,     Û
Û   but on August 29th, 2005 all of her hard work was   Û
Û   abruptly halted.                                    Û

Û   Hurricane Katrina and all its devastation swept     Û
Û   through New Orleans, trapping Euricka in her        Û
Û   apartment. She only prayed that her life and her    Û
Û   best friend Diva’s (her pet dog) life be spared.    Û
Û   Days of darkness went by before Euricka was even    Û
Û   able to communicate with any of her family          Û
Û   members to let them know that she was alright.      Û
Û   Comforted with the fact that her family was fine,   Û
Û   Euricka continued her fight for survival and        Û
Û   rescue with courage and vigor! Wading through       Û
Û   waste high waters of unforeseen dangers, Euricka    Û
Û   ’s determination was about to pay off. After        Û
Û   being heart broken by a helicopter pilot, stating   Û
Û   that his mission was not for rescue, but only to    Û
Û   repair the levy, Euricka trudged on and was         Û
Û   finally rescued by boat and reunited with the       Û
Û   rest of her family in Houston, Texas.               Û

Û   Euricka now calls Houston/Texas, home and after     Û
Û   much difficulty and emotional strain, the career    Û
Û   that was once halted by the most devastating        Û
Û   natural disaster in the history of this country     Û
Û   is halted no more. However, Euricka and her fans    Û
Û   can never forget how it all got started.            Û

Û   Growing up in the Calliope Housing Projects is a    Û
Û   far cry from where Euricka is now, having five      Û
Û   siblings, a single mother and an ordained           Û
Û   minister grandmother, kept an interesting balance   Û
Û   in her life. As a young girl singing in the         Û
Û   church, Euricka always had a love for music and     Û
Û   performance, “I always wanted to entertain and      Û
Û   make people happy.” she says, and although she      Û
Û   was raised by a firm hand, she was also raised to   Û
Û   be strong. Her patchy background has given her an   Û
Û   even more special talent, which allows her to       Û
Û   “appreciate people’s lives and where they come      Û
Û   from.” One of her most influential musical models   Û
Û   goes by the name of none other than Tina Turner.    Û
Û   “I love her music, but I really love her more as    Û
Û   a person. I appreciate how she lived and how she    Û
Û   kept it real.”                                      Û

Û   Euricka ’s stage presence and overall performance   Û
Û   skills will definitely be a key to her longevity.   Û
Û   Euricka has performed internationally and           Û
Û   commanded the stage at some of the hottest music    Û
Û   venues around. Performing annually at the Essence   Û
Û   Music Festival and the New Orleans Jazz and         Û
Û   Heritage Festival has earned her the title          Û
Û   “Princess of R&B” by many enthused fans. Most       Û
Û   recently in support for our troops headed to        Û
Û   Iraq, Euricka ’s farewell performance in            Û
Û   Forthood/Texas left the crowd in cheers. Her        Û
Û   performance of the National Anthem at one of the    Û
Û   Saints Home Games on NFL Sunday also showcased      Û

Û   Euricka shot the video for her debut single         Û
Û   “Crunk” (the remix is on“THE TAKEOVER” CD), right   Û
Û   in the Calliope Housing Projects. Returning to      Û
Û   the neighborhood that gave birth to and nurtured    Û
Û   her dreams has been one of the most exciting and    Û
Û   inspirational events for her. “It was going home    Û
Û   that moved me the most,” the singer said,           Û
Û   recalling how just a few short years ago, as a      Û
Û   teen, she peered from the window in her family’s    Û
Û   apartment and fantasized about being a super-       Û
Û   talented performer. “It brought me to tears to      Û
Û   know that this was the place where my dreams had    Û

Û   Certainly, this Southern girl is excited about      Û
